PORCHES

This isn’t really about porches, or porch decoration, or even the homes that I stop to admire as I casually stroll along the sidewalks of the neighborhood. What my photos are really about is the presence of human bodies and the individuality of said humans. Every house I’ve encountered is different. Of course, usually because of the change in design, paint color, era of each house. But what makes one house truly distinct from another is the people living in it. The porch is an extension of one’s home and personality, saying a lot more about the resident than you might think. My photos act as portraits of the individuals inside these homes, capturing each of their uniqueness through the lens of the house porch.
